Interventionist Phase - 1941-1974 - Characteristics

This was period of rapid develop of social welfare in Canada. The role of governments in society had changed as a result of the depression and the war. Governments were seen as playing an important role in society and the economy to protects its citizen's security. The urgencies of war had placed large responsibilities and fiscal powers with the federal government. The period was characterized by:
