Quintile Income distribution
– A quintile represents one-fifth
(20%) of the total number of people being studied. If the Canadian population is
divided into five sections (quintiles), Statistics Canada's studies suggest that
the richest 20% section get 44% of all income in Canada and the poorest 20%
section get only 5% of all income in Canada.
