What do I bring to the exam?
No calculator is required for the final exam. Make sure to bring your student ID and
leave your valuables at home as all bags get left at the
entrance. I normally suggest that you bring water.
What do I study?
The exam for the summer session is
different than the exam from last year so comments I make
during the summer broadcasts about what might NOT be on the
exam should be ignored. The exam review is useful to the
extent that it will highlight important components for the
multiple choice section. For the
short answer section of the exam (worth 40%) you should know
social work skills (p.75), ethics, the four steps in the social work
process with individuals, Aboriginal social work, national
government policy towards Aboriginal peoples and finally the
chapter on child
welfare (don't emphasize the history section of this chapter).
What is the exam format?
It will be 60 % multiple choice questions and 40% essay or
short answer questions.
