About Author

Steven Hick is Associate Professor in the School of Social Work at Carleton University. His published works include Land our Life: A Study of the Struggle for Agrarian Reform in the Philippines (1987), Human Rights and the Internet (2000), Advocacy, Activism and the Internet (2002) and numerous journal articles and studies on social work, social policy and human rights. He is a co-founder of War Child Canada, an organization that aims to help war-affected children. He has practiced social work in Canada and abroad as a human rights worker, social service worker and social policy analyst.
