Canadian Health Coalition

The Canadian Health Coalition is dedicated to preserving and enhancing
Canada's public health system for the benefit of all Canadians. Founded in
1979, the coalition includes groups representing unions, seniors, women,
students, consumers and health care professionals from across Canada.
World Health Organization (WHO)

World Health Organization (WHO) is an agency of the United Nations and
is based in Geneva. WHO was established in 1948 and is the directing and
coordinating authority on international health work. WHO is responsible
for helping all peoples to attain "the highest possible levels of
health." In 1987 the organization had 166 member countries. Dr. Gro
Harlem Brundtland took office as Director-General of the World Health
Organization on 21 July 1998. Her term of office is five years.
